Musical Interludes

Here are a few snapshots:

My sister got married!

My family
I got to be a bridesmaid, which was great (you might remember I mentioned about it in my Serbia post), but she also asked me along with a couple of her friends to do a little singing at the reception. So Gareth and I performed a few numbers which was fun and it was a very relaxed and happy reception :) It was in Manchester.

During my time in London I got to see a bit of live music which was great. Gareth and I payed a visit to the Ain't Nothin But... blues bar.

It seems Pinner has a little jazz scene of it's own and we went along to listen to The Simon Allen Quintet as part of Pinner Jazz.

And I checked out the KLC Quartet in Toulouse Latrec Brasserie & Wine Bar whilst in Southwark for part of the tour.

Diccon and Karl were actually both at
the Jazz Summer School I went to.
They were brilliant, and I was really glad to have the opportunity to hear them. I got the chance to perform with Karl Charity in France and he is not only an incredible trumpet player, he also has a gorgeous voice.
~
And one weekend back in Huddersfield we got to hear Jon Gomm (in the middle of the picture below) which was really cool. He was supported by Jasmine Kennedy who was excellent.

So there's a few pics for you :) I know this seems a while ago now but it's been a busy few months and so keeping up to date with this blog is tricky at times! But I still really enjoy it hence I continue posting! It's therapeutic for me if nothing else ;)

Into Autumn...

With Summer fading into Autumn it was back to reality, back to work. Although I'm lucky that my job does allow me a bit of travelling, though usually a bit closer to home!

With September came more Theatre in Education tours, to various age groups, bringing with them plenty of challenges and once more the opportunity to do a bit of exploring in London, in various different areas.

London was full of variety as usual...

For some of the time we stayed in the town of Pinner, Harrow, which is an area I was in around the same time last year.

One day the whole town centre of Pinner was shut down for filming - I heard it was to do with a film of David Attenborough's life!

In London I saw as usual some street performers doing a sterling job...

...but also saw a little of street performers near King's Cross as part of a family festival (check out info here).

Also got to hear some great live music around this time, but I'll save that for another post. Here are a few more snaps from playing out in London:
